Juices And Green Smoothies For Breakfast
Green juices and smoothies (or any other color) are considered a valid complement to meals. Therefore, they should not be considered a substitute in any case. Thus, they can be part of breakfast as long as they are accompanied with other foods.

Before continuing, do you know what the difference is between a juice and a smoothie? The main difference between both drinks is that the first one is made with an extractor or juicer and the pulp is separated. The smoothie uses the entire interior of the fruit (only the seeds are removed).
So, the good news is that if you are juicing, you can save the leftover pulp and start rolling out with the smoothies, which are made in the blender. You will need a liquid substance like water or milk.
Green juice and smoothie recipes
The following recipes can help you enjoy some foods in a different, tasty and healthy way.
Apple, celery and chia juice
Ingredients
- 1/2 cucumber.
- Celery.
- 1 green apple.
- 1 cup of water (125 ml).
- Optional: 1 cabbage leaf.
- 3 teaspoons of chia seeds (15 g).
- 3 teaspoons of maca powder (15 g).
Preparation
- Pour all the ingredients into the blender and process them until you get a smooth drink.
- Consume it as part of breakfast, or 30 minutes before breakfast.
Peach, banana, mango and spinach juice
Ingredients
- 1 peach
- 1 ripe banana.
- 2 mango slices.
- 6 spinach leaves.
- 1 glass of water (250 ml)
Preparation
- Extract the juices from the fruits and mix them in the food processor.
- Consume it at least 2 or 3 times a week, during your breakfast.
Carrot, apple and celery juice
Ingredients
- 1 green apple.
- 1 large carrot.
- Sticks of thick celery (according to taste).
Preparation
- Pass all the ingredients through the juice extractor and combine them.
- Drink the drink 30 minutes before breakfast, or at breakfast.
Celery, pineapple and cucumber smoothie
Ingredients
- 1/2 cucumber.
- 1 stalk of celery.
- 2 slices of pineapple.
- 1 glass of water (250 ml).
Preparation
- Put all the ingredients in the blender and process them for a few moments.
- Have the smoothie for breakfast.
Spinach and apple smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 green apples.
- The juice of 1 lemon.
- Spinach.
- Optional: chia seeds or almonds.
Preparation
- Put all the ingredients in the blender and process them until you get a homogeneous mixture.
- Serve the freshly made smoothie and consume it along with the rest of the food for your breakfast.

All these shakes are valid options to complement breakfast or enjoy a refreshing drink when we need it most: when we leave the gym, after walking for a while with the pet, and so on.
