Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups of white rice (180 g)
  • 2 cups of water (500 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (30 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon of salt (15 g)
  • 1 large carrot
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce (45 ml)
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 pieces of leek
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper

Preparation

  1. First of all, you must have a microwave to carry out this adaptation of the fried rice recipe. This will save time and have the finished dish quickly.
  2. In a heat resistant bowl, add the water with a touch of salt and olive oil.
  3. Set the timer for 90 seconds at maximum temperature.
  4. Remove the water from the microwave and add the white rice. Again, set the time at maximum temperature, but this time you will need 10 minutes of cooking.
  5. While the rice is in the microwave, chop the carrot, onion, and leek into very fine pieces.
  6. Then, transfer all the vegetables to a pan with olive oil and heat.
  7. Start sautéing the vegetables and don’t stop stirring at any time. This way you prevent the vegetables from burning or losing their aroma and flavor.
  8. Add a touch of soy sauce, and keep stirring.
  9. When the rice is ready, add it to the pan, add more oil and add more soy sauce and start stirring constantly.
