Self-efficacy, Discover All Its Benefits For Personal Growth

Self-efficacy is nourished by desire, motivation and goals that we want to achieve, as well as the ability we think we have to achieve them.

Self-efficacy can be measured in a very simple way. Do you want to know how self-effective you are? Well, make a list of all those dreams, wishes and realistic goals that you think you are capable of achieving.

This means that self-efficacy depends a lot on the self-concept we have of ourselves. The more capable I see myself of achieving something, the more things I can choose and the richer my path will be.

In the event that I have a low self-concept of me, what will happen is that I will conform. Thus, I will settle into automatic pilot and I will not aspire to achieve more things because I will not consider myself capable.

It is important to keep this in mind, since if we are at this point, our personal growth is on standby.  This means that we are not happy, that we are stuck and that motivation is probably not a word that is in our vocabulary.

If you are self-effective, you are your best friend

Self-efficacy

One of the great benefits of self-efficacy is that you become your best friend. You know that you are capable of achieving what you set out to do and that is in line with your abilities. However, you also know that you are going to have to work hard to achieve it.

No matter how capable we feel, in this life nothing comes as a gift. Therefore, if we have true self-efficacy, we will know how to motivate ourselves to continue forward, even when many obstacles throw us back.

You will not give yourself defeatist words, but encouragement. When everything tells you that you can’t, you will see yourself in the mirror and ask yourself “why not? Make an effort more, work more, train more and you will achieve it ”.

We tend to speak badly, to say the worst. But a truly self-effective person knows that everything that is beautiful, everything that is motivating and everything that will help her to be able to get what she wants is herself.

If your motivation depends on others, if your desire also, you will be doomed. Therefore, he becomes his best friend. Self-efficacy is a true cure for a lack of self-esteem.

You modify harmful behaviors and attitudes

Self-efficacy has so much power that it is capable of making you modify harmful behaviors and attitudes that you were not aware of. For example, knowing that you can achieve something, you will do it first instead of putting it off like most people do.

This will help you not to procrastinate. But, above all, it will help you take action with what you want. For example, someone who does not believe they can run long distances will not join a marathon. However, if this is not your case, you will experience something new that will make you grow as a person and that will allow you to feel great.

You take control of your life

When self-efficacy makes you feel that you are capable of achieving everything you set your mind to, you will no longer feel at the mercy of circumstances, nor will you consider yourself a victim of fate. You will know that you can change the course of things if you wish. Because destiny is not written.

A self-effective person knows that it is she who writes her life. You don’t have to get carried away if it doesn’t suit you. You do not have to accept what you do not like if it is not allowing you to grow.

Control is not held by anyone but her. You can change your situation with a simple “I am capable .

This, although it seems silly, gives you great power. Because everything in this life is desire, but above all taking action and decisions.

If we don’t do any of this, we will certainly not be self-effective, for we will not take the helm of our ship. We will leave it to others or to drift.

Do you consider yourself a self-effective person? Did you know how necessary self-efficacy is for personal growth? Not stagnating, feeling capable and achieving what we want makes our life have meaning and does not stop.

The consequences of stagnation are sadness, frustration, inability to enjoy, and a lack of goals and dreams. We all have the capacity to achieve things and keep moving forward. We have no limits. Unless we put them on ourselves.
